Corinth, Mississippi Qualifies For C Spire's New Fiber to the Home initiative

Corinth, Mississippi recently qualified for C Spire's new Fiber to the Home initiative. The 1 gigabit-per-second service is 100 times faster than the standard types of broadband access currently available in most American homes.

In order to participate in the initiative, Corinth needed to achieve a 45 percent target for pre-registration of area homeowners, which C Spire used as a precursor to launching the high-speed Internet service. The new fiber internet service should become available to Corinth residents next year.

"A primary goal is to ensure Mississippi has easy access to fiber technology just as we are delivering on our goal of ensuring consumers and businesses in our state have access to the latest wireless technologies," president and CEO of C Spire,  Hu Meena, said. "Fiber to the Home can be a transformative technology for communities, serving as a platform for innovation and a host of new Internet applications and experiences yet to be imagined. We're determined to show the world that Jackson and the state of Mississippi are ready to be a catalyst for technology investment, economic growth and job creation."
